Why I don't consider golf a sport: You don't get any excercise or work as a team in any way.
Why you might argue: You get excercise by walking from hole to hole.
My response: Then what are golf carts for?

Dude. Mr. Nothing man. Your ignorance is not your bliss. No, golf is not exactly high impact exercise, but it does require far more energy than sitting on your ass writing this crap. Yes it is a sport. To begin punching holes in your argument, professional golfers don't use carts. They walk. 18 holes a day for 4 straight days. And that's just the competition. They probably play another 18 practicing. In addition they probably take in the neighborhood of 500 golf swings a day. And while your swing may be weak and worthless, these guys are taking ballistic (look it up JonEboy) swings that torque and require massive amounts of muscle. I BET $100 YOU could not walk 18 holes and take 500 swings for 4 consecutive days. Beyond the fact that golf is in fact physically taxing, that's not the worst of it. The mental focus required to maintain a high level of play is extraordinary. Most days the game (or sport) elicits pure anguish for the average bloke. And finally, lets not overlook the fine motor skills required to be successful at golf. The toughest part of golf is not hitting the ball far, it is accuracy, both in putting and approaching the green. Can you hit a ball from 120 yards out over a water hazard, sand bunker and have it land within 8 feet of a 3 inch cup?
Now, as far as the merits of golf as a sport, well, google it. There are thousands of arguments for and against. I thought this one was handy http://www.thegolfblog.com/2004/02/is-golf-really-sport-or-just-game.html
Still, at the end of the day, right or wrong, sport or game, its your prerogative to maintain and support your belief. A STRONG and supported argument can change the world. As I recall, we thought the world was flat until some dude named Columbus convinced us otherwise. Your thoughts CAN change the world. So, yes, have BIG & bold thoughts and opinions but support them with facts and research, don't just spew hate and ignorance because you are bored and/or a bad golfer.
After reading "The Golf Blog" I can tell you that for Thabno's dad golf is a game and only a game. I'd like to take him on, I bet for me it's strickly a sport!
I just wanted to correct you: it's "King of Thabno" not "Mr. Nothing Man"
OK then, King of NOTHING it is....
Golf isnt really a sport its just a competetive activity. Mini glof is where its at!
